On 4/19/2011 The case between Erik Hoffer and CGM-AST, a wholly owned subsidiary of ASII, Docket 11 cv 877, was adjudicated in Federal court, State of NY, Southern District BY Judge Louis Stanton. After ASII withdrew their suit on day two of the trial, a final decision was rendered by the court pursuant to rule 41 part b. The decision affirmed the condition of a second default of ASII for non payment of interest, principal and fees to Hoffer pursuant to his promissory note of 2008. The default against CGM-AST was upheld and it was declared that Hoffer was free to pursue a settlement with NIR Group going forward. Because the case was dismissed with prejudice against ASII and CGM-AST the case cannot be brought again thereby allowing Hoffer to finalize re-acquisition of his assets through the courts and with other stakeholders.

It is important to note that CGM-AST will be evicted from their plant location at 55 La Salle street Staten Island, NY 10303 by their landlord, General Trademark Corporation. effective tomorrow 4/21/2011. The Landlord tenant Court of the State of NY will uphold the final eviction due to non payment of rent, utilities and late fees dating back from September 2010 until the present date. Based on this condition the equipment will remain idle until it can be re-claimed by Erik Hoffer and other stakeholders.

Because of this fact CGM-AST will effectively be unable to satisfy production requirements for its clients. Those clients with urgent needs or orders currently in house with CGM-AST for tapes, seals and other security products are encouraged to call Erik Hoffer at 941 575 0243 to arrange for delivery of these orders.

Because of declaration of default by ASII and CGM-AST to Hoffer, judge Stanton ruled that any and all agreements were nullified by this default action and based on that Erik Hoffer is free to pursue active business relationships with any and all former clients of his regardless of location that may have been associated with his prior entity. If your needs call for self wound self voiding security tapes or seals or if your company seeks consultative help in choosing the appropriate products to mitigate your supply chain security issues, please do not hesitate to call Erik.

  ...

Truck, trailer, fuel and cargo theft continues to be the greatest source of financial loss for the transportation industry. The combined level of in transit theft remains above $25 Billion dollars annually and presents the single biggest cause of lost profits to carriers in every modality.
Most carriers still fail to protect their unattended assets and thereby the cargo in their care. Most shippers, naïve of the fact that theft continues to escalate, also fail to do their part to protect loads by demanding that their carriers provide the appropriate theft protection and prevention technology to the vehicles carrying their cargo. This report link further explains the level of loss and brings to light the downsides of doing nothing to address this known condition.
The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration, division of the Department of Transportation has just released the FMCSA’s CSA 2010 (Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010) initiative to reduce motor vehicle crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

This program is one of the major tools for measuring the safety of individual motor carriers and commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. Such measures will help identify and monitor safety problems as part of the CSA 2010 safety improvement process. Safety is an element that can only be assured if the vehicle remains in the care and control of the owner or authorized driver. Stolen vehicles will lead to crashes, vehicle misuse, damage to the vehicle and to others and theft of the vehicle and its cargo. Such situations will cause the company to fair poorly on this analysis. With the use of recommended mechanical security technology, such as the Ts4A tractor air brake lock as shown on the FMCSA web site: http://www.airbrakesecurity.com/FMCSA.html companies and owner operators can help assure safe truck operations at all times

A complete report is available at : http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov/Documents/SMSMethodology.pdf

Companies who fail to recognize the nexus between operational safety and operation security can be doing their company a disservice. Safety and security go hand in hand. By protecting your asset you collaterally protect the cargo in your care. By understating that the mission as set forth in this program, it is incumbent upon all owners to employ these recommended methods and obligatory on all drivers to use them consistently. ...

Introducing the Diesel Keeper

CGM/RIG SECURE INC. is pleased to introduce the Diesel Keeper product to our transportation client base. This device is a permanently installed anti-siphon insert for any saddle tank on most any commercial vehicle. The device prevents theft of fuel while the vehicle is unattended by preventing any tube or funnel from being inserted into the tank in order to extract fuel.
This is not a lock and therefore it cannot be bypassed by a driver with a key. It is designed to be a 24/7 security mechanism to prevent fuel theft and to insure that your trucks are kept running.

The device is made for all types and brands of trucks and can be installed easily by a mechanic or delivered as an OE product through the manufacturer of the truck or tank.

The cost of fuel theft in the USA is extraordinarily high. No one is immune and no one in the transportation industry can afford this type of loss. Not only is there a tremendous financial burden to companies with the loss of expensive fuel, but the inability to operate because your vehicle is stranded, makes this threat extremely disturbing.

100 Percent Screening Requirement

100 Percent Screening Requirement

On Aug. 3, 2007, President Bush signed into law the Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendations Act of 2007 (9/11 Act) P.L. 110-53 (2007), legislation requiring the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish a system to enable industry to screen 100 percent of cargo transported on passenger aircraft at a level of security commensurate with the level of security of passenger checked baggage, within three years. In addition, the legislation set an interim milestone for industry to screen 50 percent of all cargo shipped on a passenger aircraft within 18 months of enactment, by February 2009. The impact of the 100 percent screening requirement is that all cargo must be screened at the piece level by TSA approved methods prior to being loaded onto a passenger aircraft.

TSA believes the most effective means for industry to meet the congressional mandate of screening 100 percent of cargo transported on passenger aircraft by August 2010, and the initial challenges required in screening cargo at the piece level when the 50 percent mandate is effective, is to employ a supply chain solution. We are pursuing multiple initiatives across the supply chain to enable industry to meet the screening milestone.

These initiatives include Narrow-Body Cargo Screening, Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP), Indirect Air Carrier Screening Technology Pilot Program, and International Collaboration. ...

For years over the road trucks and “C” and “B” class RV owners have been concerned with the security of their vehicle when unattended or while sleeping. The Sleep Safe Strap System provides extraordinary peace of mind by securing the doors of these vehicles from intruders.
The Sleep Safe Strap is a patented simple mechanical means by which drivers can quickly and safely lock their tractors or cabs by using the vehicles own structure as the means by which the device seals out intruders.

The device works by imbedding two steel brackets between the windows and the frames on both doors. Installation is done in about 15 seconds. It is installed by lowering down each window a few inches, inserting the ‘L” bracket into the trucks own door frame and reclosing the windows to lock the bracket into the door channel above the window. The locking bracket does not stress the windows nor bend the frame.

It uses simple physics to bind one door to another with equal stress on the seat belt quality nylon reinforced straps and thereby prevents either door from being opened independently or simultaneously, with or without a key. The military grade reinforced nylon straps which binds the two frames, lock together with a strong plastic clip. The Sleep Safe Strap is also as safe as it is secure to those inside by featuring a quick release clip in case of an emergency. The Sleep Safe Strap is affixed high in the cab so that it does not encumber any movement from the sleeper to the drivers’ seat.

By being able to provide enhanced security through a simple door to door integrity locking seal, the Sleep Safe Strap is your best choice for a safe secure nights sleep and peace of mind.

The device is a recommended best practice by WomenInTrucking. Org, http://www.womenintrucking.org and is available for international distribution now. Women in Trucking will receive a percentage of the profits from the sale of this product. Rigsecure, a Florida Corporation will be manufacturing and distributing the device. Inquiries can be made to Erik Hoffer, 941 575 0243. Full retail distribution and branding information will be available by 5/09 through Rigsecure. The msrp price will be $39.95 for single units and price discounts will apply for volume purchases and for resellers ...
